The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking three (3) Biological Aide. This position will be located at our Clearwater Fish Hatcher located in Ahsahka, ID. This is a 3-month, non-benefited temporary position and is expected to work up to 40 hours per week. Housing is available for the employee only. No pets.

Supplemental Information:
Some positions may travel to remote locations for data collection and maintenance activities; require the physical ability to walk and backpack for several hours over rugged terrain and along water ways; stand and work in cold water for up to eight hours per shift; lift and carry up to 60+ pounds with occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds for short distances; and work in extreme weather conditions. Frequent (overnight) in-state travel may be required. Incumbents working at fish hatcheries work with toxic chemicals and around heavy dust, high voltage, loud noises, and slippery surfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Weighing fish feed and feeding fish
- Cleaning and caring for fish in rearing units.
- Data collection; data entry; sampling fish.
- Maintaining grounds and equipment.
- Operating landscaping equipment.
- Power washing raceways.
- Cleaning offices and hatchery facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Specialty: (These qualifications are required.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Experience following oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures
- Experience interacting with the public in a professional setting
